Data Migration and Imports
How do I migrate data from my current provider or spreadsheets to our system?
Data migration with us is really easy. You can use the Imports section at USER role level or from the ADMIN area of the platform simply go to All Clients>‘Bulk data import’. We walk you through the process step-by-step below.
If you are a large firm and need a more personalised hand-holding service, we can accommodate that too for an additional cost. Most firms can simply utilise our bulk import feature and will not need to incur any additional costs for migrating.
For Creating New Clients
Mandatory Fields: Required fields are: First Name,Last Name, Legal Entity Type (must be 'Individual'), and Primary Adviser Email(this email should be of a User of the platform). Ensure no rows are leftblank.
Option 1: Upload your own Excel file
- Prepare Your File: Make sure to include all the mandatory fields specified by our platform.
- Upload and Map Fields: Upload your own Excel file containing client data. Manually map your file's fields to our platform’s fields.
- Review and Confirm: Verify the data on the screen. If correct, click “Save” to complete the upload. If there are errors, click “Cancel,” make necessary corrections, and re-upload.
Option 2: Use Our Template
- Download the Template: Click the “Download Excel Template” button without changing the file name.
- Enter Data: Fill the template with client data without changing the file name. Make sure to include all the mandatory fields data specified by our platform.
- Save and Upload: Save the file in Excel format. Click “Upload Excel Template” and select your file.
- Review and Confirm: Verify the data on the screen. If correct, click “Save” to complete the upload. If there are errors, click “Cancel,” make necessary corrections, and re-upload.
For Updating Existing Clients
Mandatory Fields: Either our Platform’s Client ID orClient Email Address (that is already present in the platform) must be includedin your file to update existing client information. Ensure no rows are leftblank.
Upload Process:
- Prepare Your Excel File (or) Use our Excel Template: Include the mandatory identification field (Client ID or Email) along with any other client details you wish to update.
- Upload and Map: Upload the file and map your fields as needed.
- Review and Confirm: Verify the data on the screen. If correct, click “Save” to complete the upload. If there are errors, click “Cancel,” make necessary corrections, and re-upload.
